DAVID WESTBROO.

אפשר לבקש ממנו המלצות בסוף הסיור.

להלן הביקורות שלי על המקומות שביקרתי בדצמבר. באנגלית.

Findings on the culinary selections in the Crescent city.

Antoine's
Nice warm bread.
Three course lunch menu for $20.
Oysters prepared three different ways+ oyster baked in pastry, crabmeat+ pecan bread pudding.
Everything was tasty, but not very tasty. It was okay.

GW Fins.
Delicious bread.
Ordered two starters and a dessert.
Lobster dumplings were very fine and tender.
Crispy pork belly and watermelon- excellent, very special dish.
Salty Malty ice cream-  very nice dessert.
I recommend this place.

Cochon.
Standard bread.
Very nice staff, did not charge me for starter, since it came after 20 minutes.
Ordered one starter and entree.
Fried alligator and garlic aioli - taste like chicken, very yummy chicken.
Louisiana cochon- found it  a little dry, did like the cracklings on top.

Cafe du Monde.
Had beignets, and so should everyone. Quintessential and essential.

Killer Po Boys.
Place is hidden in the back of a pub.
Glazed pork belly po boy- lovely, slide down the throat goodness.
Best, only po boy I had

Brennann's.
Had bananas foster at bar.
Menu says they only do two person version, but they got me one just the same.
Nice stuff, but not better than other versions I had. Not a must.

Emeril's.
Three types of wonderful bread.
BBQ shrimps- very nice shrimps, amazing barbecue sauce.
Just the sauce with fresh bread is better than almost any dish out there. I will miss this.
ANDOUILLE CRUSTED RAINBOW TROUT- bit of  a letdown. Very nice sauce, mediocre fish.
Banana cream cake- light, dreamy, delightful, must have dessert.
Would definitely go back.

August.
Three course lunch menu, available Fridays, for 20 bucks!
When I got the bill, I felt guilty...
Complimentary amuse bouche- custard served in eggshell- very nice.
Ordinary bread with  great butter.
Bisque- delicate, rich flavor.
Pasta with slow cooked venison-  sublime perfection.
Goat milk cheesecake- delicate flavors, classy.
Banana pudding (ordered from menu)- a must for every fan of bananas or sweet desserts.
Don't WALK, run.

Camellia grill.
Came for the pecan pie, and had a very nice one, served with ice cream.
Not the best ever, but very good.

Coop's.
Ordered the Sampler plate.
Excellent gumbo, spicy jambalaya, tasty rice and beans, okay fried chicken.
A great way to sample the classics.

Willie Mae's Scotch house.
Damn good fried chicken. Not for the faint of heart.

Napoleon house.
Unfortunately, not every place was a winner.
Bland boudin and jambalaya.
Service was way too slow.
Avoid it.

Loretta's pralines.
Praline beignets- just what the label says, decadent and rich.

Alberto's cheese and wine.
Had half a muffuletta to go.
Only ate it eight hours later, in Chicago, but it was still delicious.
One of the best sandwiches I know.

הנאה מובטחת בעיר, אבל מומלץ להשאיר את הארנק בבית המלון...
